MOOSOMIN, Sask. - Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for a small red car that survived a very strange close encounter with a semi when it drifted beneath the rig's trailer on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Police say the accident happened around 1:30 am Sunday near Moosomin in southeast Saskatchewan.

RCMP Sgt. Gord Stewart says the westbound car was passing the truck when eyewitnesses saw it suddenly swerve partially under the rig just ahead of the trailer's big dual wheels.

Stewart says eyewitnesses saw the car - believed to be a Honda - hit a small fuel tank and a set of dolly wheels that are used to keep the trailer up when it's not attached to a semi.

The car quickly popped back out and kept going, although its right passenger side was battered and part of its roof may have been torn off.

Stewart says he's never seen anything like this before, especially since the car's driver was able to keep going.
