The second phase of Building Canada Fund (BCF) projects approved this week do not include two from Moose Jaw for which the city had applied.
City Manager Garry McKay told the Times-Herald on Tuesday the city is awaiting clarification to see if Moose Jaw was indeed left out of further funding from the same program that recently delivered federal dollars to the multiplex project.
During the April 6 city council meeting, council unanimously agreed administration should submit an application for BCF funding towards the Buffalo Pound water treatment plant supply line project.
The waterline project is estimated to cost $10 million. About $1 million of that project was approved in the 2009 capital budget, with the rest intended for the 2010 budget.
Council approved another BCF application during the May 11 meeting. That request was for $2.4 million from the federal and provincial governments to help pay for the $3.4-million road pavement repair program set for 2010.
