The current weekend forecast calls for clear skies, which would be ideal conditions for when 15 Wing hosts Armed Forces day on Saturday.
Admission and parking for Armed Forces Day are free and the event is open to all members of the public.
This is the third year 15 Wing has put on this event.
"It's our opportunity to showcase the Canadian Forces to the public and say thank you to the people of Saskatchewan for their support of the Forces," said Lt. Marc Velasco, the public affairs officer for 15 Wing.
"It's something for families to get together and enjoy," said Velasco.
This year's event also holds special meaning for pilots across the country.
"This year we're celebrating the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Canada," said Velasco.
"We want people to know that and to celebrate our heritage of technology and aviation and the strong flying tradition we carry."
Along with static displays representing all arms of the Canadian Forces, there will be an air show featuring performances by the Snowbirds, a CT-156 Harvard II, and the CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team.
The air demonstrations will also feature Hawk 1, a refurbished F-86 Sabre. Before the formation of the Snowbirds, the F-86 Sabre was used by the Golden Hawks, the Royal Canadian Air Force's premier aerobatic team at the time.
Formed in 1959, the Golden Hawks only flew for five seasons and was disbanded in 1964 due to budget cuts.
"Resurrect, Celebrate and Motivate" are the themes behind the refurbishment of the classic Sabre.
Hawk 1 will join the Snowbirds as they tour across Canada as part of the centennial celebrations
Armed Forces Day will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Air demonstrations will begin at 1 p.m.
