Watch your speed in Moose Jaw.

According to the National Motorists Association (NMA), Moose Jaw is the worst place in the province with a population under 100,000 for speed traps.

Saskatoon is the worst place overall.

The NMA has put together a website listing the top speed trap locations in North America.

They have been collecting data over the past decade at www.speedtrap.org as part of the National Speed Trap Exchange.

Jim Baxter, president of the NMA, said drivers are able to report speed trap locations to the website.

There are seven listed in Moose Jaw and 27 in Saskatoon.

“Over the years we have built up a list of 60,000 speed traps in North America,” he said.

“Our definition of a speed trap is where there’s intensive enforcement of a speed limit that’s significantly lower than the prevailing traffic speeds.

“We want to bring attention to the public of the subject of speed traps. We want to make the traveling public aware these speed traps are out there and they should be in tune to not being victims of some of these speed traps.”

My job requires me to drive around this city quite alot and I can count the number of times I've seen a speed trap set up on one hand. Drive down Thatcher Drive East and count how many people that drive 60 or 70 kmh. Our police dont have the man power to sit at one spot for days at a time, they are to busy with young offenders causing problems or domestic disputes.

Speed traps...not likely in Moose Jaw. They should sit on 1st ave NW between Saskatchewan and Oxford and could pay for all the equipt and the new cars in a month. Really. Have never seen radar here but see speeding drivers everday zooming down the hill. Some cities set up radar and stay in one place for months and now NO ONE speeds on those streets because it sunk in. C'mon I dare ya!
