It might almost be Halloween but don't worry if you see a few zombies walking around the city in the next few weeks. Minds Eye Entertainment, based in Regina, is filming a new movie with a working title of 13 Eerie and Moose Jaw has been chosen as the ideal location. The producer is Kevin Dewalt, originally from Moose Jaw, with director Lowell Dean. "The film is a zombie movie," Richelle Bourgoin, publicist for Minds Eye Entertainment, told the Times-Herald. "It centres on some forensic undergraduate students who are undertaking a scientific expedition on a remote island that was formerly used as a biological testing ground for life-term criminals left for dead, but they are not dead. They are undead as they find out," she said. Bourgoin said filming is taking place in and around Moose Jaw and is due to finish at the end of October. The film stars Katharine Isabelle, a Canadian actress, who played the lead role in Ginger Snaps, as student Megan; Michael Shanks from Stargate as the professor; Brendan Fletcher from The Pacific as student Josh; Nick Moran from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as Larry the driver; and Brendan Fehr from CSI Miami as student Daniel. "The zombies are secret," Bourgoin said. "It's part of the story so it's a secret." Bourgoin said it is hard to say when the movie will come out because there are a lot of special effects to be done, although the aim is the end of 2012. "It's too early to say but we would anticipate theatrical release at the end of 2012 to beginning of 2013."
