A 66-year-old woman, who police named as Donna Acton and who was allegedly assaulted in Moose Jaw, has died at Regina General Hospital.
Sgt. Randy Jesse, of Moose Jaw Police Service, told the Times-Herald she died on Saturday.
He said police are now in consultation with the Crown Prosecutor regarding charges and the family.
The Moose Jaw Police Service is continuing to investigate and more information will be released at a later date.
The incident happened on Oct. 10 in the early morning hours. Police and Moose Jaw & District EMS were called to a home on the 1000 block of Hopkins Crescent at 6:18 a.m and found an injured woman.
After investigation, William Akins, 58, of Moose Jaw, was charged with aggravated assault. He has been released from police custody on a recognizance with conditions.
