It was all about thanking Moose Javians Wednesday night for their support and commitment to both the community and the Moose Jaw Times-Herald during the Thanks a Million contest.
“From the beginning to the end of this contest I have been excited and now that the finale is over I am a little disappointed because we were having so much fun with it,” said Rob Clark, publisher of the Times-Herald.
Clark said he, along with Murray GM and all of the wonderful sponsors couldn’t have scripted a better outcome to the event if they had tried.
“Everything just went better than expected and everyone had just a wonderful time.”
He said after mingling with a few of the contestants and sponsors, he knows this is something he will be doing again in the future.
Clark said not only did the Thanks a Million contest bring out the creative side in Times-Herald readers, but introduced them to a few of the local businesses in the community they may not have been previously familiar with.
One of those businesses was Western Pizza Express.
Glenn Giddings, owner of the pizza restaurant said he couldn’t have been more happy with the end result of this contest.
He said although he was a bit reluctant to jump on board at first, he is extremely happy he ended up joining the Thanks a Million team.
“It was great, the whole thing. I have to say the contest really did bring a lot of people to the store who may otherwise have not known where we are.”
Giddings said although not every person who brought in a contestant form bought a pizza, it introduced them to the business and its staff.
“I would 100 per cent take part in this again. I have to say in the end this is probably the best thing we have done for our store.”
As for the finale celebration, Giddings said it went swimmingly. He said everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, the food and the excitement surrounding the possibility of winning the million dollars.
