Taking romance to the next level, the Moose Jaw Humane Society has decided to take its annual fundraiser up a notch and ditch the chili and instead offer a romantic champagne dinner Feb. 13, at the Heritage Inn.
“This year we decided we wanted to do something a little more classy, a little more romantic and make it an event people can take their sweethearts or even friends out to and make an evening of it,” said Karla Pratt, fundraising and promotions coordinator for the Moose Jaw Humane Society.
In the past the humane society has hosted roast beef and chili dinners, which Pratt said were fantastic fundraisers, however, as an organization she said everyone was ready to take the event to the next level.
“We decided to go with something that was a bit more fancy, so dinner and entertainment was the ideal match and when we were looking for a cute name, “Kisses for Kritters with a Tribute to the King” seemed to just fit. So it all has come together quite naturally,” said Pratt.
As for the entertainment, she said, bringing the original North American King back to the Friendly City once again, Rory Allen, will be performing his tribute to Elvis Presley.
“Rory has been such a wonderful supporter of the Moose Jaw Humane Society, so we are really excited to have him back.”
Pratt said she is encouraging those who would like to attend the event to pre-buy their tickets at the shelter for $65 a ticket or $500 for a table of eight.
