January 9, 2012 will forever be known as a great day for Moose Jaw’s Metcalfe family.

After struggling to keep up with the ever rising cost of living in not only Moose Jaw, but Saskatchewan, the family of five was informed they would be receiving what they would like to call not just a home, but an opportunity.

“This is going so much further than just being a home,” said Angie Metcalfe, one of the new recipients of the next Habitat for Humanity Home. “It’s an opportunity to develop new relationships with people in the community and be a part of an organization that has become so special to us.

“I just feel so hopeful. This is just one more opportunity for us to be grateful and share with people how God has blessed us and provided for us.”

Although a construction timeline has yet to be decided, the family of five said in a news release they are more than excited and thankful to have been the family chosen for this home.

“I’m speechless. It’s something we’ve wanted our whole lives and now it’s a reality. It’s a dream come true,” said Rob Metcalfe.
