On Sunday, 47-year-old Lyle Hicks was visiting his mother Faye. Then someone from Marquis called, Faye said, and told Lyle some very unfortunate news. Lyle’s home was fully engulfed in flames.
“It’s just so disheartening,” she said.
According to Faye, Lyle was getting ready to leave his mom’s Moose Jaw apartment and head out for his farm located three kilometres north of Marquis when he stopped to ponder what the point of hurrying was if the house was already ‘fully engulfed.’
“By then, he was in shock,” Faye told the Times-Herald. She said her son did go out to the scene. He called at about 10 p.m. that night and told her the house was completely gone.
