A two-vehicle hit-and-run collision occurred at the intersection of Fairford Street and Main Street North at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012.

A two-vehicle hit-and-run collision occurred at the intersection of Fairford Street and Main Street North at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday.

A 16-year-old female driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to Moose Jaw Union Hospital after a two-tone red and white pickup truck struck her vehicle on the passenger side after running a red light heading east on Fairford Street.

Moose Jaw Police Service said the vehicle drove off after the incident, but had sustained substantial front-end damage and left a trail of liquid for about seven blocks that police were following but of which they lost sight.

Police said that a vehicle stopped to assist the woman and managed to identify the pickup truck's license plate, and police have identified the driver of the vehicle and are still investigating.

Also on Saturday. at about 2:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Main Street North, city police responded to two-vehicle collision that caused about $5,000. There were no injuries in htis incident, but police charged one person for following too close.
