Get ready for a summer day and night of top entertainment.

K+S Potash Canada and Wakamow Valley announced Wednesday the Wakamow Jamboree will be held Aug. 18, at the Kiwanis Park Oval.

“Gates will be opening at 2 p.m. there will be a midway for children, eating contest, dunk tank and much more,” Wakamow Valley Park administration and community relations coordinator Margaret Moran told the audience.

Musical entertainment will begin at 3 p.m. on the C&S Builders/Sask Water stage with Samara Yung, followed by Chris Henderson, The Barley Boys, Jason Plumb and The Willing. The event will finish with headlining act, Charlie Major.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for students and free for children under 10. All proceeds from the event will go towards various projects for Wakamow Valley Park.

“We’re now in the process of raising $165,000 so we can purchase and put into operation Moose Jaw’s first ultra accessible playground for all children to enjoy regardless of their physical abilities,” Wakamow CEO Barry Watson said.
