It's that time of year again — the Moose Jaw Times-Herald and Staples Business Depot are working together with the citizens of Moose Jaw to collect items for this year’s School Supply Drive.

Advertising director of the Times-Herald Glenn Haug said supplies can be dropped off any time as the Times-Herald is collecting year-round. If items get dropped off in fall they will be simply be saved until the next year.

Collected school supplies will be given to both the Holy Trinity Catholic Separate School Division and the Prairie South School Division to distribute to those students that may struggle to purchase the necessary school supplies.

In the past, the drive has brought in as much as seven or eight shopping carts full of supplies.

“The drive builds on the generosity of the city, and Moose Jaw citizens have always come through,” said Haug. He would one day like to collect enough to fill a small bus full of supplies and then drive it to the schools and deliver the goodies.
