Shelter dog Sharmyn poses on the tailgate of the humane society's animal rescue vehicle.

The Moose Jaw Humane Society (MJHS) wants to make your pet a star.

MJHS is calling on all shelter supporters to get creative and enter their photo/video contest.

The idea is to come up with a funny, cute or touching sign, poster or drawing supporting the MJHS and take a clear, high resolution photo of it and submit it into the contest.

“It can be simple, like a photo of the family dog sitting beside a sign that says, ‘I Woof the MJHS’, or a photo of you and your co-workers each holding a letter of a word that spells out “We Love Shelter Pets,” MJHS promotions coordinator Karla Pratt offered.

The submissions will be included in this fall’s “The Best Things in Life are Rescued” telethon airing live on Shaw TV channel 10, Nov. 10.

“We really want the submissions to tie into showing your support for the shelter,” Pratt said. “You could use it as an alumni adoption piece, showcasing your adopted pet; or you could get your class or everyone at work involved.”
