“God save the Queen,” rang out in Crescent Park on Thursday afternoon during the City of Moose Jaw’s Diamond Jubilee celebration at the Amphitheatre in Crescent Park.
“It is my deep pleasure to bring greetings on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II — Queen of Canada for 60 years,” Saskatchewan Lt.-Gov. Vaughn Solomon Schofield told guests at the afternoon gathering, which featured an air band competition by staff and youth participating in the city’s summer playground program.
Cindy Simoneau, playground program co-ordinator, said there were about 200 children at Thursday’s event, ready to sing, dance and perform in honour of the nation’s sovereign leader.
