Moose Jaw Fire Department tackles a blaze on the 1000 block of Warner Street on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012.

Moose Jaw Fire Department continues to investigate the cause of last week’s double-house fire on the 1000 block of Warner Street and, on Wednesday, Deputy Fire Chief Rod Montgomery said it could still be a while before investigators come to a conclusion.

“Just going through the ashes is taking some time,” he told the Times-Herald. According to Montgomery, one of the houses that succumbed to fire Friday evening saw most of its structure burnt, making the job of those looking for a cause to the blaze rather challenging.

However, he said the investigation would continue.

Robbie Gamble, local Canadian Red Cross volunteer and worker, was at the site of the fire on Friday, offering whatever assistance she could to the approximately 15 people displaced by the blaze.
