Moose Jaw Casino celebrated its ten year anniversary on Thursday, with the people  most responsible for its continuing success –– the community.

The public was invited to an outdoor offering of cake and coffee to celebrate the milestone achievement behind the casino.

“Congratulations to all that has made Casino Moose Jaw a success, its a contribution to our economy, growth and tourism,” Coun. Terry Coleman offered to the crowd.

“The casino opened its doors on Sept., 6, 2002 and has since then generated nearly $29 million towards the Moose Jaw economy,” President and CEO of SaskGaming, Twyla Meredith said.”

“It’s always been a pleasure being apart of the Moose Jaw tourism industry, and we’ve made some great partnerships along the way,” Meredith offered.

Meredith added Temple Gardens Spa, The Tunnels of Moose Jaw and Chamber of Commerce are just some of the great partnerships that have developed with the casino over the last decade.

The casino employs 129 staff members, with those onhand proud of their involvement with the site.

Madlin Lucyk works as one of the frontline ambassadors for the casino as a show girl during different promotions. She was onhand today to hand out commemorative pins to mark the anniversary. “We love working for the casino,” Lucyk said. “We’re treated excellently and it’s a really fun place to work.”

Rita Horvath enjoys the time she spends at Casino Moose Jaw so much she had to drive down from Regina to show her appreciation. “Moose Jaw (Casino) really holds up and the staff is wonderful,” Horvath said. “I just keep coming back because the gaming and staff are just as good as I find in Regina.”
