The single largest building permit issued in August went to Paul Gregory, allowing Century West Construction to erect a $1.131 million commercial retail shop at 825 Thatcher Drive. E. in the Grayson Industrial Park.
That was one of 40 building permits the City of Moose Jaw issued in August, worth a total of approximately $4.72 million. In August 2011, the city issued 58 permits worth about $5.87 million.
Another Grayson Industrial Park development that received a building permit in August 2011, which went to Jasvir Singh, allows for foundation work to occur at the 379 Diefenbaker Dr. location of the Ramada Hotel site.
Of those building permits issued last month, seven were for new housing constructions. For example, IDGS Developments is erecting a single family dwelling on the 100 block of Everton Crescent at a cost of $304,600. Big Sky Homes is building a $550,050 duplex on the 200 block of High Street East.
