22-year-old Daniel James Smith of Moose Jaw, will return to Provincial Court Friday for a scheduled bail assessment hearing.

On Aug. 13, Smith was involved in an alleged hit and run at the intersection of Fifth Avenue Northwest at Hall Street West, which police believe was spurned by mistaken identity.

A-30-day mental assessment was issued for Smith and performed in North Battleford.

Along with the attempted murder charge, Smith is also facing charges for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and possession of a prohibited weapon.
