Sheila and Freddie Pelletier will be hosting a three-part series this fall at the Mae Wilson Theatre. The first show in the Singin’, Pickin’ and Grinnin’ series will be on Wednesday at 7 p.m. featuring three-member Johnny Cash tribute band Cash Back.

Hailing from Birch Hills, Sask., Sheila and Freddie Pelletier are rooted in classic country music. Freddie is a guitar instrumentalist, specializing in the finger picking style of playing. Sheila also plays guitar and sings.

Their music has evolved throughout the years as they’ve explored a variety of genres.

“Freddy and I have been playing for a long, long time. When you’re young, you feel like you have something to prove and you have to find your own little niche, and we’ve both gone through that and now we’re at the point in our lives when, really, all we want to do is entertain the people,” explained Sheila Pelletier.

These shows are geared towards an older audience looking for a relaxed concert, seeking to avoid loud and in-your-face performances.

In the past year, the pair has incorporated more '50s and '60s rock classics into their shows.

“It’s all about hearing a tune you haven’t heard in a long time, but something that you grew up with and sang along with in your car, driving down the road many years ago,” she explained.
