Culture Day is coming to the Western Development Museum.

To mark Culture Day and to join in on the Canada-wide celebration of the country’s culture, the Western Development Museum will have free admission on Sunday and extra activities in the afternoon.

“We feel very strongly that culture is important, our culture and heritage,” said Kathy Fitton, manager of the Moose Jaw Western Development Museum. “It fits perfectly with our mandate. We have our Winning the Prairie Gamble exhibit which talks about Saskatchewan as a province for the past 100 years.

“We want to participate with this and it’s a wonderful opportunity for people to be able to take part in the museum and the activities for free which is definitely a treat for everyone.”

Extra activities will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Activities will include horse and wagon rides, a blacksmith demonstration, crafts, interpreters in the museum galleries and a performance of live music by the band Olga & Friends in the galleries at 2 p.m.
