A fundraising calendar with proceeds going to the Moose Jaw Health Foundation will be available tomorrow.

Sharon Cole of the Royal Purple in Moose Jaw said the reason to do the calendar was to have fun and raise money for the health foundation. Nineteen women from the Royal Purple and one woman from the Elk’s Lodge, aged 25 to 89, participated in posing for the calendar.

“It took a lot of courage,” said Cole. “It’s to prove that beauty crosses any age, any size.”

The calendar features a variety of pin-up poses using props. Props such as rabbits, umbrellas, sports gear, farm tools and wrapped presents were used for different months.

Participation was voluntary because Cole said it was important to respect other people’s rights. She said it was difficult to convince people to do it and the most challenging part was posing for the photos. The oldest woman in the calendar is Marie Gibbs who is 89 years old. Cole said she thought that was “pretty cool.”

She added they have 265 calendars to sell and will reprint after that if needed. Calendars are selling for $20 and can be purchased at Sprintz Manufacturing or Bebe Bump at 305 Fairford St. W. or by calling 693-6632 or 694-1627.
