Most of the building permits issued in September were for residential use.

Only three permits out of the 25 issued last month worth approximately $4.22 million were for commercial and industrial purposes. In September 2011, the city issued 36 permits worth about $7.15 million.

The single largest building permit issued in September went toward a $523,600 housing project on the 800 block of Chester Road. The second largest permit went to Mirage Builders for the construction of a single family dwelling in West Park at a cost of $357,400.

The two largest commercial and industrial permits were issued to allow an office addition to C & S Builders Ltd on the 600 block of High Street at a cost of $300,000. Bill Tremblay Holdings Inc is building a $300,000 office building on the 200 block of Fairford Street West.

The only other commercial and industrial permit issued last month was to Ken Zumstien and Lynne Schmidt to convert a retail space at 20 Fairford Street West into a restaurant at a cost of approximately $2,000.
