• Moose Jaw Fire Department responded to a fire alarm activation on the zero block of Woodlily Drive.

Police calls

• On Sunday, Moose Jaw Police Service were called to the 1500 block Spadina Street for a complaint of a suspicious vehicle. Upon investigation it was discovered the vehicle was stolen.  The suspect fled on foot . Moose Jaw Police Service canine unit tracked and apprehended the suspect.

A male young offender is in police custody facing charges of possession of stolen property, impaired driving, driving while over .08, mischief, four counts of Breach of Probation. He will be released later for an upcoming court date.

• On Sunday at approximately 11:15 a.m. Moose Jaw RCMP were called to a complaint of a sudden death on a farm near Rouleau. A 94-year-old male from the Rouleau district was found dead. The death appears to have occurred Saturday afternoon. It is believed he died while burning some grass in his yard. The body has been transported to Moose Jaw where an autopsy will be completed this week.

The death is not believed to be suspicious. The investigation is continuing.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.


Moose Jaw Police Service received 34 calls between 7 a.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

• A reportedly stolen truck was recovered on the 200 block of Duffield Street West.

• A reported two vehicle hit and run resulted in $20,000 in damage on the 1600 block of Athabasca Street West.

• Police are investigating a stolen Saskatchewan licence plate reading: 305 DGM  on the 1000 block of Chestnut Avenue.

• A dispute was mediated on the 500 block of Hochelaga Street West.

• Police mediated a dispute on the 1800 block of Caribou Street East.

• An intoxicated person was picked up on River Street East at Main Street North and detained until sober.

• Police are investigating a reported hit and run on the zero block of Thatcher Drive East.

• a report of an erratic driver is being investigated on 16th Avenue Southwest at Coteau Street West.

• A dispute was mediated on the 500 block of Hochelaga Street West.

• Police mediated a dispute on the 1400 block of Grandview Street West.

• A vehicle was reportedly rummaged through on Everton Crescent.

• Police are investigating a reported theft of cash and credit cards on Belmont Crescent.

• Two people were arrested on two outstanding warrants.

    Our vehicle was also rummaged through on 1700 block hastings (sunday night). This has a very amaturish feel to it as they left credit cards etc and were only looking for cash....
