Deb Higgins was voted in as the first female mayor for Moose Jaw on Wednesday evening.
Higgins won with 53 per cent (5,239) of the votes over Fraser Tolmie (46 per cent or 4,645 votes).
Voted into council was incumbents Heather Eby, Dawn Luhning, Don Mitchell and Brian Swanson. Also voted in was Patick Boyle and Candis Kirkpatick for the first time.
Voted into the Prairie South School Board was Lew Young, Brain Swanson, Jan Radwanski, Tim McLeod and Darrell Crabbe.
The ward system resolution did not get voted in as 4,786 people voted against and 4,135 voted for the resolution.
