Throughout the week Mosaic Place has kept the City of Moose Jaw in suspense, teasing a huge announcement that finally arrived Friday morning.
Organizers revealed that two wildly popular acts will be stopping in the Friendly City next year: punk rockers Billy Talent in March, and country music superstar Carrie Underwood in May.
Underwood, a five-time Grammy Award winner, has officially been booked to bring her Blown Away world tour to Mosaic Place on May 17, 2013.
“You can’t discount the fact that Carrie Underwood is one of the biggest stars in the world,” said Doug Campbell, the facility's director of business development. “It doesn’t get too much bigger than Carrie Underwood, so that’s a huge coup for Moose Jaw and for Mosaic Place."
Before Underwood takes the stage, Canadian chart toppers Billy Talent will warm up the fans in Moose Jaw with a March 25 stop during their Dead Silence tour.
The tour takes its name from their latest album, their third consecutive release to enter Canadian album sales charts at No. 1 and their fourth to go gold in their native land.
“When you look at that show’s roster," said Campbell, "you got Billy Talent, which has had huge success, and when you look at the support acts that go along with that, you’ve got Sum 41, Hollerado, Indian Handcrafts. It’s a very solid show and a good value for the dollar."
