The Salvation Army elves are busy preparing hampers for struggling families.

“The generosity of Moose Jaw has been overwhelming,” said Salvation Army Capt. Laurie Reilly. “Every kid will get a toy.”

She said she expects the Salvation Army to make between 170 and 180 hampers this year, which is about the same number as last year.

“We’ve had, I would say, about 25 new families, but 25 other families have either not needed it or moved away,” said Reilly.
