With the exception of Westheath, all of the city’s 15 outdoor rinks are up and running.

Robin Mitchell, administrator with the parks and recreation department, said Westheath would hopefully be ready to go by next week.

“Last year we had eight of (the rinks) supervised starting in January,” said Mitchell. “(I’m) not sure what the numbers will be this year. It just depends on the staff that we’re able to come up with.”

Lights will be automatically turned on at 5 p.m. and won’t be turned off until 10 p.m. According to the city’s website, the facilities have warm up shacks at the supervised outdoor rinks open from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
