It’s never too early to start preparing for the annual Relay for Life.

“It’s a great opportunity to get your team together for relay for life,” said local chairperson Doris Dunphy. “We’re looking forward to having a great year this year.”

The 12th annual 12-hour fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society will once again take place at the Moose Jaw Field House on June 7 to 8. Last year was the first year the event was held at the field house.

She said there would be a few minor changes this year, but they were pleased with the venue. Previously it had been held outside in the speed skating oval in River Park in Wakamow Valley.

“We were quite happy with the venue. It was a beautiful venue and it was definitely nice to have it indoors,” said Dunphy. “It made for a great atmosphere for the participants because come three or four o’clock in the morning it was still nice and warm.”
