When Cosette Francis’ son went to Quebec as part of a class trip, he had a great time.

“My son went about five years ago and he really enjoyed it,” said Francis. “It was a really good experience. So I think it’s really beneficial for the kids.”

There will be a family fun night Saturday at Ecole St. Margaret from 7 to 8:30 p.m. All funds raised will go to support a Grade 7 and 8 class trip to Quebec from July 3 to 8.

“They do it every two years so that two classes can get together to fundraise for it. It’s easier for the families that way,” said Francis. “Ecole St. Margaret is French immersion. So they want to reward the kids with a chance to go to Quebec and see and speak their language, learn a little about their culture. The trip is not actually part of the school but it’s organized by the school families.”

The night will feature games and prizes for adults and kids, she said. Some of those games include bingo and several games for smaller kids such as a fishpond, a beanbag toss and mini golf. There will also be a penny parade, a concession with homemade goods and popcorn and a silent auction.
