Students and employers came together Wednesday for the 33rd annual SIAST Palliser Campus career fair.

With 94 employers registered for the event and more than 1,100 students making their to the event, Holli Bell, SIAST’s coordinator of student employment services, said she feels the event was a success.

“The main purpose here is to provide a venue where employers can come together with our students, while at the same time, give our students a bit of a one-stop shop to meet employers and I think we have accomplished that.”

Bell said the event housed employers from across Western Canada in a wide variety of fields.

“There are employers representing all of our Palliser programs.”

Although a fair of this magnitude is beneficial to the students, Bell said it is equally beneficial to the employers.

“I really think this is an equal opportunity event. It gives the students the chance to see what is out there for them and the businesses a chance to let the students know what they have to offer.”
