The sole performer representing the Friendly City in this year’s Saskatchewan Telemiracle is 13-year-old Kendall Bistertzan.

Taking the stage March 3, Bistertzan said she will be singing the song she auditioned for the show with, Want U Back by Cher Lloyd.

“I’m excited and a little bit nervous,” said the Grade 8 student.

Bistertzan said helping people is something she has always wanted to do and to have the opportunity to do so in this way, means more than she can put into words.

“Just being able to sing on stage and be a part of Telemiracle and help people is pretty cool.”

In an effort to take her contribution to the fundraiser a bit further, Bistertzan will also be raffling off three gift baskets.

She said all the baskets will be filled with goodies from local businesses and donations and have three different themes; movie, warrior and Easter.

Telemiracle Hands have also been on sale at Bistertzan’s school, St. Michael, for $1.

As for the support she has received thus far, Bistertzan said it has been great.

“I have had a lot of support from my friends and family and even my teachers and the kids at school. They all think it is pretty cool that I will be on (Telemiracle).”
