Celebrating golf and its rich history in the City of Moose Jaw was just one of the many reasons Ken Bradley decided to write, Out of Bounds: A Century of Golf In Moose Jaw.

During the book’s launch Saturday afternoon at the Moose Jaw Public Library, Bradley not only gave a brief overview of some of the facts, pictures and history one will find in his book, but put on display memorabilia dating back to some of the earliest days of golf in the Friendly City.

After working on the book for more than five years, Bradley said it is pretty incredible to have the finished product in his hand and ready for sale.

As for Saturday’s launch, Bradley said he didn’t know what to expect.

“I didn’t know if I would get one, two, ten or fifty people here, so I am really happy to see this turn-out and certainly excited to get the word out that (the Hillcrest) is going to be 100 this year. I am looking foreword to celebrating and this book is a part of that celebration.”

Garry Andrews, who wrote the forward for the book, said he was beyond impressed by the detail and research Bradley put into the book.

“When I first read the book I told (Bradley) there is some great stuff here and of course he was being modest about it. But this book contains graduate school caliber research. It’s just outstanding.

“I knew he knew his stuff, but I didn’t know to what degree he knew his stuff. It is really neat. He did a wonderful job.”
