Chad Braun, owner of Student Works Painting in Moose Jaw and full-time student at the University of Regina has been named Saskatchewan’s 2013 Student Entrepreneur Provincial Champion.

The winners were named by the national charitable organization Enactus Canada and program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.

Braun received the title by being able to balance the demands of a full-time university course load with the trial and tribulations of running a business.

“Moose Jaw hadn’t had a Student Works Painting franchise in four years, so I had to start from scratch,” Braun said. “It took a lot of hard work and I really learned the value of meeting people and networking.”

Braun’s Moose Jaw franchise, Student Works Painting offers interior and exterior paint contracts for residential and commercial businesses.

Student Works is an independent company dedicated to the professional training of young entrepreneurs who seek an opportunity to expand their skill set and overall knowledge of the business industry.

“Chad is the epitome of a young entrepreneur because he is able to find opportunity within challenge,” explained Enactus Canada president Nicole Almond. “This entrepreneurial spirit is what built this country and we want to encourage and celebrate it in other student entrepreneurs across Canada.”
