The single largest building permit the city issued in February, valued at $3,750, was to allow for the renovation of an apartment building on the 800 block of Main Street North at a cost of $750,000.
Szyd’s Enerprises Inc. received the second largest permit, worth $550, to re-image a restaurant through renovation at 920 North Service Road at a cost of $110,000.
Those were two of eight permits issued in February worth $974,160. In January 2012, the city issued 16 permits worth $3.94 million. This year saw a decrease of $2.96 million in permits.
Half of the permits were for commercial and industrial use. Darren Boyko received a permit worth $175 to allow for a renovation to his house medical clinic at 264 River St. W. at a cost of $35,000. MGM Construction Ltd. received a permit worth $50 for a $10,000-renovation to pharmacy walls at 710 Main St. N.
