Although he has only been in the Friendly City for two years, John Paul Hickie was shown some Moose Jaw love Saturday night and named Mister Moose Jaw.
Running for the second year in a row, the Mister Moose Jaw competition raises funds and awareness for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.
This year Hickie, along with Wayne Mitchell, Renaud Durand and Riley Billy, made the event was a huge success, said Doris Dunphy, this year’s Relay for Life chairwoman.
Between the four men, more than $6,000 was raised, which was far beyond the $250 they were each asked to raise.
“These men were just great,” said Dunphy. “They went above and beyond and just made the event so much fun.”
