More pro-life letters presented in campaign

Parishioners from the Church of Our Lady have participated in a pro-life letter-writing campaign.

“We feel very strongly that our taxpayer money should not be used to fund abortions,” said Vicki Mayer, a parishioner with Church of Our Lady. “We’ve expressed this in various ways in these letters.”

A total of 154 letters were collected in the one-month campaign with 139 of those letters presented to Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Greg Lawrence at his constituency office on Thursday. The other 14 were addressed to Moose Jaw North MLA Warren Michelson and one to federal MP Ray Boughen.

Out of the letters presented to Lawrence, some were addressed to him, while others were addressed to Premier Brad Wall, justice minister Gordon Wyant, health minister Dustin Duncan and rural and remote health minister Randy Weekes.

“I will take these to the appropriate accepting minister and then it’s in their hands,” said Lawrence. “Again it is what the province looks at as a federal responsibility.”
