Random stabbing in Regina mall

Regina police are still investigating after a youth stabbed four people at the city’s Cornwall Centre Tuesday night.

According to a story in today’s Leader Post, police officers, who were already in the mall at the time of the attack, were alerted to the stabbings around 6 p.m.

Once located, police said they ordered the male suspect to drop his knife, he then threw it at them, missed and then was taken into custody.

Three of the victims were taken to hospital, while the fourth was treated on scene by EMS.

Police said the attack appears to be random.

The mall was closed following the incident and the scene secured by police. According to the Leader Post the investigation is on going, with the involvement of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification.
