John Fogerty will be at Mosaic Place on Nov. 8.
John Fogerty, the former Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) singer and songwriter is playing Moose Jaw on Nov 8.
Fogerty will be bringing all of CCR's classic hits, including songs from the band's three popular albums: Bayou Country, Green River, and Will and the Poor Boys.
"Having the ability to see an act that may or may not have played in the region or even in Canada that long ago. It's huge," said Doug Campbell Director of business development at Mosaic Place. "It's CCR at Mozaic Place essentially."
Fogerty's performance will be a part of a November Canada-wide tour, which will stretch from St. John's NL to Victoria, BC. The El Cerrito, Calif. born swamp-rocker formed a distinctive, groundbreaking sound, combining blues, country, pop, rock, R&B, boogie, and Southern fried rock 'n' roll before he started a successful solo career.
Campbell expects the show to see an older demographic, similar to crowd seen at ZZ-top and Chicago.
"That's the type of band that those people have grown up with," Campbell said. "Now they are able to see an act that probably wasn't touring 30 years ago, that now is touring quite a bit."
After CCR disbanded in 1972, Fogerty began a successful solo career, peaking with his self-titled, multi-platinum album, John Fogerty, and its 1985's #1 hit Centrefield. The singers success has continued throughout the decades with 1997's Blue Moon Swamp, which won the Grammy Award for best rock album. The star has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and was also honoured at the 2010 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies.
The Nov. 18 show will centre around Fogerty's 2013 release, Wrote a Song for Everyone, but will also include music from his complete catalog of hits.
Tickets start at $20 plus tax and will be available on May 23, at 10 a.m. at the Mosaic Place Box Office, online at mosaicplace.ca or by phone at 306-624-2050.
