BERLIN - Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis AG says its net profit during the second quarter reached $2.73 billion.
This is the same as for the previous year's quarter.
Novartis says sales fell four per cent to $14.3 billion from $14.92 billion in the second quarter of 2011.
The Basel-based company said in its earnings release Thursday that it is on track to match its 2011 sales performance this year.
