Nova Scotia pronounced dead at scene after being struck by falling tree

NEW MINAS, N.S. - The RCMP in Nova Scotia say a man died Monday after being stuck by a tree.

Police say the accident happened on Weaver Road in Pereau near New Minas.

They say a 52-year-old man had been cutting down a tree on his property when it fell on him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released pending the notification of family.
