The trees at Tourism Moose Jaw have been put to work for Christmas this year by creating a wonderful light display at night.

Eight evergreen trees and two deciduous trees at the back of the tourism centre near the road have been lit up — thanks to sponsorship from local business.

Gail Ennis, administrative assistance at the centre, said the trees have been decorated with a combination of lights as companies were given a choice.

One tree has blue and clear lights, another has all blue and another is green and gold while there is also a red tree and some are a mixture of colours.

It was the idea of Executive Director Candice Kirkpatrick. Sponsors have committed for two years.

Ennis said several “valuable” members sponsored the trees.

“For the first year, we are just doing the 10,” she said, “In future years, if we get more businesses wanting to sponsor, then we may do other trees outside.”
