People at Moose Jaw’s Alliance Church were able to travel back in time and enjoy a journey to Bethlehem to learn about the Christmas story.
Bethlehem Live! started on Thursday and will run until Saturday with free tours starting at 6 p.m.
The outdoor, interactive 20-minute tour, showing the events of the first Christmas night, celebrates its seven season this year.
On the journey, people are guided round by a ‘family’ member as if they were travelling to Bethlehem for the census.
But they are warned they may encounter bandits and fierce Romans.
The tour includes live animals with shepherds tending their sheep, and Roman guards charging on horses.
There is a marketplace and beggars at the gates to Bethlehem.
People are also warned to hang on to the money given to them at the start of the tour as it will be needed to hand to the Romans.
At the end, people will find baby Jesus lying in a manger with Mary and Joseph surrounded by two llamas.
