The main entrance to Wakamow Park will temporarily be restricted to one way traffic only for Moose Jaw’s ninth annual Relay for Life.
The temporary measure will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on June 4.
The measure was voted through unanimously at Monday’s city council meeting.
But it is subject to several conditions.
The promoters must be responsible for directing traffic, controlling the affected entrance and exit to Wakamow Park and must comply with any additional requirements that may be imposed by the City Engineer and the Chief of Police regarding traffic safety.
The organizers must also ensure that formal written notification is given to the Wakamow Valley Authority, the Burger Cabin, River Park Campground and all Wakamow Valley residents that the entrance will be one way access.
All costs must be borne by the promoters.
Council also granted permission to the YMCA to hold the 10th Annual Dusty Moose Jaw on May 30 at Wakamow Valley.
The triathlon consists of a 5 km kayak leg, a 20 km bike and a 8 km run.
The motion was passed unanimously with several conditions.
