Moose Jaw Police Service arrested an adult male at 3:41 p.m. on Wednesday, in connection with a purse-snatching robbery last week. The man was to appear in provincial court on Thursday, to face charges relating to the incident.
That was one of 36 calls to which city police responded between 7 a.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday. Police are also investigating two hit-and-run incidents that occurred on Wednesday.
Causing $3,000 damage, the first such incident happened at Union Hospital at approximately 8:12 a.m. The second such incident, causing approximately $1,300 damage, happened around 1:20 p.m. at Town & Country Mall.
Also at the mall on Wednesday, police charged a young-offender male with shoplifting at 5:50 p.m.
Police are searching for a red Dodge Durango, which is the suspect vehicle in a 4:44 p.m. Wednesday incident in which someone drove away from the Safeway gas bar without paying for $50 worth of petrol.
At 9:31 a.m. on Wednesday, local police responded to a report of a shed being entered on the 200 block of Eighth Avenue Northwest. About $200 worth of oil is reported stolen from the location.
At 10:39 p.m. on Wednesday, police arrested an adult male for breach of probation on the 100 block of High Street West.
Police are investigating the theft of a purse from a vehicle entered on the 100 block of Fairford Street East at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
