A dog is now safety back with its owners after the Moose Jaw Fire Department rescued the animal along Seventh Avenue Southwest at 5:50 p.m. on Monday.
The canine was trapped at the bottom of a 4.5 metre cistern. In order to retrieve the dog, fire crews dropped a granola bar down the hole.
As the dog was chewing on the food, firefighters managed to hook a pipe pole through the dog’s collar and pull the animal up to safety.
