A ceremony to mark the change of command for the Canadian Forces Snowbirds aerobatic team saw Lt-Col. Maryse Carmichael officially become the squadron’s commanding officer.
The event took place at 15 Wing in Moose Jaw on Thursday with a parade.
Many dignitaries were present at the event, including the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan Gordon Barnhart and Honorary Colonel Yvette Moore.
Carmichael gave a speech saying she was very happy to be back in Moose Jaw.
“I was one of those kids at an airshow when I was five-years-old and I saw the Snowbirds and that gave me motivation to join the cadets and start flying and eventually be on the Snowbirds.
“We will work hard, and very hard in the next few years, but we will have fun doing it,” she said.
