Moose Jaw EMS transported a woman to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after she was stabbed in the face with a knife early Sunday morning.
Moose Jaw Police Service responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute at 3:45 a.m. at a Prairie Oasis Trailer Court trailer. Upon arriving at the scene, police found four adults at the property, two of whom (both female) were engaged in a fight that resulted with one suffering the above-mentioned injuries.
The matter is still under investigation although one person was taken into custody.
That was one of a multitude of calls to which city police responded over the weekend. Police also attended a collision at Sixth Avenue Northeast and Caribou Street East shortly after 5 p.m. on Saturday, when a vehicle crashed into a parked truck.
The collision, to which Moose Jaw Fire Department and EMS also attended, resulted in two people going to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police issued numerous criminal code charges and the incident, which resulted in about $30,000 damage, is still under investigation.
Police are investigating the theft of a $500 electric bike, which was reported stolen from the 800 block of Ominica Street East at 11:57 a.m. on Saturday.
At about 1:53 p.m. on Saturday, city police responded to a business on Thatcher Drive East, where three small children had been left in a parked van. No charges were laid, but police contacted the vehicle's owner after attending to the children.
One person was taken to hospital for psychiatric treatment following a domestic dispute to which local police responded on the 1000 block of Athabasca Street West at about 4 p.m. on Saturday.
After conducting a curfew check at 11:05 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of Stadacona Street East, police charged one person with breeching a court order. Although the person was at the residence at 11:05 p.m., the person was not there at an earlier required time.
Also at 11:05 p.m. Saturday on the 1000 block of Stadacona Street East, police made another curfew check and found nobody home. The matter is under investigation.
At 11:17 p.m. on Saturday, police went to the Phyllis Dewar Outdoor Pool and kicked out some people who had climbed over the fence. The people weren't charged, but they did receive a warning.
Police charged a person for driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding the legal limit. The person was charged at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday on the 100 block of River Street East.
While conducting some night training with the K9-unit dogs at 3:16 a.m. on Saturday at Lynbrook Golf Course, police came across two people who had entered a compound and were causing damage. The adult males were apprehended and charged.
