It was a frightening incident causing at least one Moose Javian to suggest the city must hurry up and replace an old Crescent Park staircase leading to the amphitheatre.

During the Aug. 4 concert in the park, 40-year-old Rob Gallinger was enjoying the music when he said an elderly woman slipped on the aging staircase on the eastside of the hill.

“She was just reaching the bottom and she lost her balance,” Gallinger told the Times-Herald on Monday. He said the 83-year-old woman bruised her hip and incurred a gash on the back of her head.

With the help of another concertgoer, Gallinger said he was able to provide First Aide for the woman until ambulance arrived. He said, after speaking with the woman later, she seems to be doing OK.

Put the staircase in line behind the sidewalks, roads, aging sewer and water pipes. Lets face it the city is falling apart because of the backward priority system this city employees. I don't see it getting any better anytime soon, so get use to it.
