Negotiations between XL Beef and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union will continue on Sept. 1, according to Norm Neault, president of the Local 1400.
Meetings between the union and the company took place this week but have now been rescheduled to continue on Sept. 1.
Nearly 200 employees were told they were permanently laid off by XL Beef on Aug. 13.
They have been locked out since September 2009 and picket lines will continue to stay up until the closure.

“We have got discussions going which is good,” he said.
